Poire belle helene

This week recipe is the Poire belle helene which a simple dessert made out of poached pears in a delicious clear syrup infused with vanilla and lemon zest. The poached pear is served with a chocolate sauce and vanilla ice cream which is then covered with toasted flaked almonds.

For this recipe you will need :

  • 3 to 4 firm pears
  • 500 to 600gran of sugar
  • Half a fresh vanilla pod
  • The zest of half a lemon
  • 1 litre of water
  • Half a lemon

Chocolate sauce :

  • 200 gram of dark chocolate
  • 20 ml of pure double cream

5o grams of flaked almonds.

Your favourite brand of Vanilla ice cream.
